An AI voice agent is a conversational system that speaks and listens over a phone call. It is not an IVR with better audio and not a recorded message — the person on the other end can interrupt it, argue with it, change the subject, and be understood.
For India that matters more than almost anywhere. A phone call needs no smartphone, no data pack, no app store and no ability to read a form, which makes it the only channel with genuine universal reach to the households that public programmes most need to reach. Everything AiSewak builds starts from that constraint.
We work in three areas: elections and constituency outreach, government helplines and scheme delivery, and social-impact programmes in education, agriculture and tribal livelihoods. Each has its own page below.

What it costs
The six drivers that actually move an AI voice agent's cost in India, so you can build a defensible estimate before talking to any vendor — ours included.
Versus a human call centre
Published figures from named organisations on what voice AI changes against a seated helpline, with every source linked and nothing presented as our own result.
State by state
Fifteen state pages covering the languages and regional variants that actually decide whether a call lands — Bhojpuri and Awadhi in UP, Kosli and Santali in Odisha, Malwai and Majhi in Punjab.
What makes an Indian voice agent work, and what makes it fail
Three things decide whether a deployment lands, and none of them is the model. The first is dialect: a Bhojpuri-speaking voter hears textbook Hindi as an outsider and hangs up, so "supports 22 languages" is a much weaker claim than it sounds. The second is the first objection — real callers push back in their opening turn, and an agent that has only been scripted for the happy path loses the call there. The third is what happens when the agent does not know: it must say so and route to a human, because a citizen who is told a wrong subsidy amount will act on it.
Compliance is the fourth thing, and it is not a feature to be enabled later. The agent discloses that it is an AI in its opening sentence, calling honours TRAI TCCCPR and DND, personal data is processed under DPDP with a real deletion path, and election deployments are registered with the ECI or state CEO before the first call. We do not build synthetic audio of real political figures, including when asked.

Frequently asked questions
What is an AI voice agent?
A conversational AI that holds a real phone conversation — it speaks, listens, understands interruptions and answers questions it was not scripted for. Unlike an IVR it has no menu tree, and unlike a robocall nothing is pre-recorded. In India its main advantage is reach: a phone call works on a feature phone, over a weak network, for someone who cannot read a form.
Which Indian languages does the voice agent speak?
Hindi plus the 22 scheduled languages, and the regional variants that decide whether a call actually lands — Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Marwari, Mewari, Magahi, Santhali and others. Agents run on a mix of Indic-first models and the MeitY Bhashini stack, and a single agent can switch language mid-call when the person on the other end does.
Is an AI voice agent legal for outreach in India?
Yes, within a well-defined set of rules. The agent must disclose that it is an AI at the start of the call (ECI's 2024 advisory on synthetic media), outbound calling must respect TRAI TCCCPR 2018 and DLT registration, personal data must be handled under the DPDP Act 2023, and IT Rules 2021 govern the content itself. Election deployments additionally require registration with the ECI or the state CEO as a political advertiser. AiSewak ships these controls switched on by default rather than as an add-on.
Does AiSewak sell a self-serve platform?
No. Every deployment is scoped around one constituency, department or programme and operated alongside your own team. If you want to sign up and start calling this afternoon, several Indian platforms do that well and we will point you to them.
Where has AiSewak deployed?
Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Jharkhand, across transport, health, education, agriculture, tribal livelihood and constituency-outreach programmes. Live demo agents from several of these deployments are linked above and can be called directly.
Tell us who you need to reach
A constituency, a scheme backlog or a programme cohort. We will show you a live agent on that use case and the transcripts behind it.
Every AiSewak agent identifies itself as an AI at the start of the call, never asks for an OTP or a payment, and honours DND. Election deployments require ECI / state CEO registration as a political advertiser.
